Notes : As medium tank designs increased in weight and size during the immediate postwar, a niche for a low ground pressure and rapidly deployable tank destroyer was found. Meant for use in the undeveloped heartlands of East Asia against insurrectionist forces supplied by Soviet surplus, the tank was extremely lightweight and featured an 85mm main gun. Suitable for use in swamps and marshlands due to an extremely low ground pressure, the ATA-51 brought substantial firepower at the expense of severely cramped crew conditions and almost nonexistent armor.
