TASI V12-110 "Taisto" (With a fictional story)
TASI V12-110 "Taisto" is a finnish armored fighting vehicle, manufactured in the 70's during cold war. The history of this tank began when the Cold War plagued Finland by all possible means. Efforts were made to restrict trade between Finland and the West, and to increase trade between Finland and Russia. Finland had to prepare for Russia to attack Finland again. Russia had newer equipment compared to Finland, while Finland had a lot of obsolete equipment. Western countries had even newer equipment, but Russian sanctions restricted imports of Western goods. Finland decided to make its own tank, which should be able to withstand the enemy and travel effortlessly in the terrain. Truck manufacturer SISU manufactured an efficient V12 engine for the tank, which transported a 40-ton tank at a speed of 50 km/h and kept the wagon moving even in difficult terrain. Officials from the state artillery factory visited Sweden to inspect the cannons of Swedish tanks. They found that the caliber does not have to be big, but the length of the cannon and projectile had to change if the projectile was to penetrate armor effortlessly. The officials of artillery factory came back to Finland and suggested building a 110mm cannon that should penetrate through more than 190mm of armor. When the tank was built, it was decided to name it TASI V12 110. TASI means Taistelu-Sisu (Taistelu=Battle and Sisu is truck manufacturer). The tank's nickname was Taisto, which was the first name of a Finnish man. Read MoreNotes : Updated to 0.113v!35 downloads
